Mortgage Rates
Be sure to shop around for a good mortgage rate! Whether you choose to go to a bank, credit union or mortgage broker, you may find a special rate. Be sure to get a pre-approval letter before looking at properties. This will keep your rate locked in for a period of time determined by your lender and will help set your budget.

When the Bank of Canada Rate changes, the Banks follow by updating their mortgage rates. See the Bank of Canada Rate here. As of July 30 2025, the Bank of Canada has remained at 2.75%.

As of June 5 2024, the Bank of Canada decreases to 4.75%. The first drop since March 2022.
As of January, 2023: There were huge increases since March, 2022 to slow inflation. It hada big effect on the housing market. As rates went up, sales went down. |
